22 fans stolen from Kabi Nazrul univ

Ceiling fans stolen from the Faculty of Social Science of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal upazila are yet to be recovered.

Twenty-two ceiling fans were stolen from the faculty on Monday night and only three have been recovered from the campus so far, Procter Prof Md Jahidul Kabir said.

The university went on vacation on May 24 and the faculty rooms have remained locked since then, he said.

Night guards of the university saw some youths carrying ceiling fans towards the university's Agnibina Hall, a residential hall for male students, on Monday night, the proctor said.

“The guards immediately informed us and the proctorial body of the university raided the hall and recovered three fans from its corridor on Tuesday morning,” he said.

They also searched the faculty building on Tuesday morning and found 19 fans missing from different rooms, the proctor added.

“As the perpetrators are unknown, we are handling the matter with care,” he said.
