2 motorbike drivers sued for raping madrasa girl

Two rental motorbike drivers were sued on Friday on charge of raping a 14-year-old madrasa girl student in Mathbaria upazila on Thursday.

The accused are Rumman Panchayet, 25, son of Yunus Panchayet, and Panna Panchayet, 35, son of Faruk Panchayet of Badura village. They are rental motorbike drivers.

Victim's maternal grandmother filed the case with Mathbaria Police Station.

Victim's grandmother said her granddaughter is a Class IX student at a local madrasa.

"As my daughter stays in Saudi Arabia, my granddaughter lives with me," she said.

She said Rumman and Panna entered her house late on Thursday night and took the victim to a nearby garden. They raped her there, she added. 

Neighbours recovered her from the garden, the grandmother said.

The victim was sent to Pirojpur for medical check up, said Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge of the police station.
