2 accused remanded

A Dhaka court yesterday placed two youths on two-day remand each in a case filed for raping a woman at a guest house in Banani on February 4.

Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder passed the order after Mohammad Borhanuddin, officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station produced the accused Rajib Ahmed, 28, and Rubel Hossain alias Joy, 27, before it with a five-day remand prayer.   

Police arrested the duo on February 4 after the victim filed a rape case against them.

According to the case statement, Rajib picked her up from in front of Banani Star Kebab around 8:30pm and took her to the guest house on road no-15 for dinner.

The woman wanted to return home after the dinner, but Rajib requested her to stay back.

Around 1:00am, Rajib took her to a room in the guesthouse and introduced her to his friend Rubel, where the duo raped the woman several times.
