The Government decided to appoint Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, director general of South East Asia Wing of the Foreign Ministry, as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, said an official announcement yesterday.

Career diplomat Manjurul Karim joined the Foreign Service in February 1998. He served in Bangladesh missions in Istanbul, London, Rome and Bandar Seri Begawan. He also represented Bangladesh in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings.

Manjurul completed Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He completed Masters in Geopolitics and Global Security from the University La Sapienza in Rome of Italy.
