BGB man dies as truck hits motorbike

Five other people killed in four districts

A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur on Tuesday night.

Nur Alam, 40, of the upazila, was stationed at 38 BGB Battalion in Satkhira, said his family. He came home on leave.

Police handed the body over to the family.

Meanwhile, five other people were killed in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

In Comilla, first grader Zishan was run over by an auto-rickshaw in Laksham upazila. The 7-year-old was son of Mostofa Mia of Batakhil of the upazila.

In Narayanganj, 50-year-old steel mill worker Abdur Rahman was run over by a bus in Sonargaon upazila. In Bagerhat, a youth died as a bus collided with a goods vehicle he was driving in Fakirha. Russell, 20, lived in Rupsa upazila.

In Thakurgaon, Habibar Rahman, 50, died after being hit by a microbus in Baliadangi upazila. Separately, in Haripur upazila of the district, 25-year-old Abu was killed when a tractor hit his motorbike from behind.
