RU students demonstrate for bus to join fellow's funeral

Over 100 students of Rajshahi University yesterday demonstrated on the campus as its authorities refused to provide them with a bus to join the funeral of their fellow student.

Saniur Rahman Sany, 22, hailing from Netrokona, died due to hepatitis B virus in the capital yesterday. He was a deputy cultural affairs secretary of BCL RU unit.

Hearing the news, the students, including BCL men, gathered at the administrative building and requested the authorities to provide them with a bus, but the vice chancellor refused to do so, the students claimed. Later, Pro VC Prof Anand Kumar Saha assured them that the authorities would be with the students next time.
