Quack held for raping teenager

Police arrested a quack in the capital's Uttarkhan yesterday for raping a ninth-grader two days before.

During primary interrogation, Shah Alam, 38, family friend of the victim, admitted to police that he lured the girl into the flat of his friend, Jewel, 35, with a fake job offer and raped her there.

Police also arrested Jewel who stood guard outside the flat in Sujar Para on Saturday.

The victim, aged 14 years, was admitted to the One-Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for forensic tests, said police.

Victim's father filed a case with Uttarkhan Police Station after the girl, despite being threatened by the rapist, revealed the incident.
