3 ex-officials of Dinajpur hospital sent to jail

A Dinajpur court yesterday sent three former officials of a public hospital to jail after rejecting their bail prayers in case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission.

The court passed the order after Dr Siddiqur Rahman, Dr Abu Bakar Siddique and Dr MBM Iqbal appeared before the court.

They are former directors (acting) of M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital in Dinajpur. Moksedur Islam, owner of a firm, “Blare Aviation”, that used to supply medical appliances to the hospital, received bail in the case.

According to the case, the four embezzled Tk 74.98 lakh meant for purchasing medical instruments for the hospital in 2014.
