JOHN

Your film "Ami Tomar Hote Chai" is releasing soon. Tell us about your role in the film.
My role in the film is quite complicated. I play a gangster, but there is a huge twist. Until you see the movie for yourself, you will not know who the actual protagonist and antagonist of the movie actually are.
Could you tell us about your upcoming projects?
I have many upcoming projects that I am working on at the moment. One of them is Nilima, a film directed by Iftekhar Chowdhury. The film was shot in Europe and I have really high expectations for that. My other upcoming films are Agent 3 and an unnamed project by Anonno Mamun. I have also signed a new film called "Bondhon".
If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would that be?
It would be Passionate. I believe that I am a very passionate person when it comes down to it. Whether it is acting, working out or anything else, I take that very seriously as my work is everything to me.
The Bangladeshi film industry is gradually seeing improvements, and people seem more enthusiastic about our cinema. What do you think is the cause?
Well, there has definitely been technical improvements that have been made possible due to the sheer efforts made by our producers and directors. New patterns of filmmaking have emerged among us, and there is no way to go from here other than up. I am extremely hopeful about our industry at this moment.
Who is your inspiration as an actor?
I have always idolized Salman Shah, who was a style icon way ahead of his time. Among the current actors, it would have to be Shakib Khan as he is a role model for upcoming actors due to his hard work and passion.
Where would you want to see yourself in 10 years?
I would like to see myself as an established actor. But more importantly, I want to be known for my acting skills and dedication as this is what I have put my heart and soul into. I sincerely hope that the audience likes my work, as without their support no actor can really thrive.
