AL leader shot dead in Khagrachhari

Unidentified assailants stormed the house of a local leader of ruling Awami League and gunned him down in Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari tonight.

Deceased Naba Kumar Tripura, 40, was the vice-president of Logang union unit of AL, reports our Khagrachhari correspondent.

A group of armed criminals shot Kumar after entering his house in Karbaripara village of the union around 8:30pm, killing him on the spot, Abdus Samad Mandal, officer-in-charge of Panchhari Police Station, told The Daily Star.
