9 BCL activists of JU expelled

Bangladesh Chhatra League (S-P) has expelled nine activists of its Jahangirnagar University Unit for their alleged involvement in killing one of its activist Ananda Kumar Ghosh in October last year.

The expelees are: Shamsad Touhid Kakar, General Secretary of JU Unit, Nahid Hasan, Monir Hossain, Arif, Sanjoy, Imrool, Ripon, Kabir and Munna, said a press release signed by the office secretary of the BCL central committee Rafiqul Islam yesterday.

Jasimuddin Manik, a BCL leader of the university unit has been appointed acting general secretary, the press release added.

A murder case was lodged with Savar thana against them following the killing in October last year.
