Who isn't familiar with the phrase “Dure Giye Mor”? Crossing the boundaries of blogs and Facebook, the phrase has now become a part and parcel of young Dhakaites' everyday vocab. A distant relative of “get lost”, “dure giye mor” possibly originated in the Bangla blogosphere. Unlike its English counterpart, it never connotes seriousness and can only be used in humorous situations. The immensely popular phrase is contagious and has an acronym too: DGM. The next time your annoying friend nags, just throw a DGM at him/her.
