Two schoolboys freed in Kushtia
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) yesterday afternoon freed two Bangladeshi schoolboys it picked up from near the border in Kushtia in the morning.
The BSF men from Krishan camp of Nadia district in West Bengal picked them up around 11:30am when the duo went to see their paddy fields along Pakuria border under Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia district.
The two, aged 15, are Azam Ali and Mamun Ali of Pakuria village. Azam is a student of class X and Mamun a student of class X.
After a flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) of Mohishkundi camp and the BSF members of Krishan camp, the BSF men released the boys around 6:30pm, said Jahir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station.
In another incident, the BSF men from Putkhali camp of Nadia picked up a Bangladeshi cattle trader around 7:30am from Benipur border under Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district, said Lt Col Gazi Asaduzzaman, commander of BGB-6 Battalion.
