Teacher held for molesting students in Ctg

A teacher of Orbit Cadet School and College in Chittagong city was arrested yesterday on charges of molesting the second graders at the institution.
The institution authorities also sacked Osman Gani, 30, an Arabic teacher.
Some 50 guardians of the students of the institution and locals demonstrated before the principal's room around 10:00am yesterday, demanding punitive action against Osman. Police arrested him from the water tank of the school building where he was hiding.
Osman, 30, a resident of Maheshkhali upazila, Cox's Bazar, passed Fazil from Chunati Madrasa in Satkania upazila and Kamil from Baitush Sharaf Madrasa in Chittagong city, said Atik Ahmed Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar Police Station. He joined the school on January 1.
The guardians alleged that Osman had been sexually harassing the students, both girls and boys, by taking two or three of them to the rooftop every day during class time.
“I came to know of the matter on Monday from our domestic help as my son told her about being tortured by this teacher,” Lokman Hossain told The Daily Star. After that the guardians called on the school principal, Nurul Alam, who confirmed that Osman was fired.
Lokman filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station in this regard.
