Tangail Sadar Hospital to be upgraded
TANGAIL, Jan 11: Health Minister Salahuddin Yusuff has given directives for completion of repair and reconstruction of all flood-damaged health complexes within the scheduled time.
He gave the directive while addressing a meeting of the Tangail District Health Development Committee at the conference room of Tangail Sadar Hospital on January 9.
He also asked the relevant authorities to strengthen their supervision to ensure that the work is completed by the stipulated time.
The meeting was presided over by chairman of the committee former health minister Abdul Mannan MP. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Abul Hassan Chowdhury, Abdul Latif Siddique, the Director (Adm) of the Directorate of Health Services and the Civil Surgeon also addressed the meeting.
The health minister informed the meeting that the 100-bed Tangail Sadar Hospital would be upgraded to a 200-bed one in phases and a Trauma Centre would be set up there.
He said the government gives priority to the health sector to ensure 'health for all' by the year 2000. He urged the people concerned to reach government's health services to the people to attain the goal.
