Big Bull, Big Price: Tk 28 lakh for ‘Bazarer Raja’

With only three days to go before Eid-ul-Azha, cattle traders are charging higher price in the cattle markets of Dhaka while supply of cattle is still moderate.

And among the highest is ‘Bazarer Raja’ priced at Tk 28 lakh who weighs in at 1,675 kilogrammes and is waiting to be sold at Gabtoli, the largest and permanent cattle market of the capital.

Hasmat Mia from Amin Bazaar and Alam from Faridpur are waiting for a buyer for their huge bull nicknamed ‘Bazarer Raja’, deemed the costliest at the market right now.

Agro farms like Sadeeq and Al Amin at Dhaka Udyan area of Mohammadpur are also selling a variety of foreign cattle, like cows, camel, goat, white buffalo and sheep at a price range from Tk 1.5 lakh to Tk 35 lakh.

At Gabtoli cattle market, local cattle are being sold at prices ranging from Tk 30,000 to Tk 28 lakh.
