Sonargaon all set to welcome Baishakh
A three-day traditional fair will be held at the lobby of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital to celebrate the coming of the Bengali New Year 1420 -- Pahela Baishakh -- with much fanfare.
Colourful stalls offering Bangladeshi handicrafts, clothes, souvenirs and snacks will form the fair starting on April 13, the hotel said in a statement yesterday.
Like every year, the hotel's most popular restaurant -- Café Bazar -- will offer an array of traditional Baishakhi mouth-watering food from different cuisines of the country in the Bengali Food Festival, which will take place side-by-side as well.
A group of young artists will also entertain guests with their rhythms of dance and music.
