Siddikur wallows as Pariya shines

There were to be no last-round heroics for Bangladesh's premier golfer Siddikur Rahman as he slid further from his overnight position of joint 22nd to finish the Worldwide Selangor Masters in Malaysia in joint 26th position yesterday. It was however a gloriously tight finish for Pariya Junhasavasdikul of Thailand who won the 400,000 dollar event by one stroke at the Seri Selangor Golf Club.
Pariya finished the day with one-under-par 70 and a cumulative score of nine-under-par 275. India's Anirban Lahiri (eight-under-par 276) finished in second place, while Korea's Baek Syung-Hyun shared third place with Namchok Tantipokhakul (seven-under-par 277) of Thailand.
Siddikur traded four bogeys -- on the seventh, 13th, 14th and 18th holes -- with two birdies on the fifth and 12th. That gave him a final round score of two-over-par 73 and a cumulative score of three-over-par 287.
