Rhythm of Xylography at Gallery Cosmos
A week- long printmaking workshop titled “Rhythm of Xylography” was held from June 21 to June 28 2013 at Cosmos-Atelier71 Printmaking Studio, Malibagh in the city. The workshop was conducted by artist Professor Md. Amirul Momanin Chowdhury.
The workshop was on water base woodcut, water base screen print and oil base woodcut. Participating artists poured their power of imagination in the prints themed on diverse subjects that included childhood, pastoral life, urban and rural life, tranquil nature, green horizon, riverine beauty, dream, beauty, emotion, freedom, motherhood and more.
Artist Professor Abul Barq Alvi, Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka graced the workshop as guest artist.
The participating artists were Afrozaa Jamil Konka, Rahima Afroz, Emdadul Hoque Topu, Tania Sultana Bristy, Lamia Azad, Sadia Sultana Bony and others.
