Pray for Mandela, Manna Dey

We have learnt from the media reports that both Nelson Mandela and Manna Dey have been admitted to hospital in critical conditions.

Nelson Mandela became a global symbol of triumph over adversity and South Africa's first black leader in 1994 after the defeat of apartheid. His health is a cause for concern to the millions of South Africans who revere Mandela for his decades of struggle against white-minority rule and steering the continent's biggest economy to all-race elections.

On the other hand, legendary singer Manna Dey, born in Kolkata of India, has recorded more than 3,500 songs in a number of languages including Bengali and Hindi and enchanted generations of listeners with his melodious, raga-based songs, Qawwalis as well as fast-paced modern songs. He sang for many Hindi and Bengali films.

We pray for Mandela and Manna Dey's quick recovery.
