Police, public foil mugging attempt

Passengers of a minibus with the help of Detective Branch (DB) of police foiled a snatching attempt by the vehicle's driver and members of its staff at Palashi in the city yesterday morning.

The driver, identified as Yusuf Akand, conductor Abdur Rashid Dewan and helper Jahangir Hawlader, were arrested from in front of BUET at about 6:30 am by DB.

Sharif, one of the passengers of the bus lodged a FIR with the Ramna Police in this regard yesterday.
