Pak national refuses to give statement
Rais Khan, a Pakistani national arrested in connection with the countries biggest heroin haul, refused to give a confessional statement to the CMM's Court yesterday.
After completion of three days' remand by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), Rais was produced before the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Taleb at about 11:30 am yesterday.
Rais along with his two accomplices were remanded for three more days on January 16. But two others were not taken for interrogation from the central jail.
He refused to give confessional statement before the magistrate when he was produced in the court.
Earlier Rais had agreed to give a confessional statement to the court, investigation officer said.
Rais, Alefzan and Ibrahim were arrested from a city hotel with 24.1 kgs of heroin on September 20 last year.
They were taken on remand several times before they were sent to the Dhaka Central Jail.
