One arrested for murder in capital

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday arrested a man for allegedly shooting dead a scrap metal trader on August 8 in the capital's Mohakhali.
The victim, Rafiqul Islam, 32, resident of Sattola Bosti, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Rab arrested Shimul Azad, 19, an accused in an FIR, in the Gabtoli bus terminal area.
Quoting the arrestee, Commanding Officer of Rab-1 Lt Col Kismat Hayat, at a press briefing in Rab-1 office, said Shimul and two others killed Rafiqul as the trader had shouted crude epithets at him and his boss for extortion.
