Notre Dame College allowed to hold admission tests

The High Court yesterday cleared the way for Notre Dame College in Dhaka to admit students of class XI through holding admission tests.
It stayed for six months the process for admission into class XI of Notre Dame College on the basis of marks obtained by the admission seekers in the Secondary School Certificate examinations.
In response to a writ petition filed by the college authorities, the court also issued a rule upon the government to explain in four weeks why the circular, issued by the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Dhaka in this regard, should not be declared illegal.
The board on May 16 issued the circular saying it will select institutions for students on the basis of their SSC marks.
