Nation Celebrates Independence Day

The 42nd Independence and National Day was observed on Tuesday with a vow to  resist the defeated forces of 1971, rid the country of a stigma  by completing the trial of those who committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War and executing the verdicts passed on the war criminals. With the rise of patriotic fervour in the nation's youths, people from all walks of life expressed solidarity with them in resisting any conspiracy against the independence of the country.  People converged at the Liberation War mausoleum at Savar with aspirations of building a prosperous Bangladesh. The spirit of the youths spread and reverberated throughout the country through their non-violent movement, interspersed with cultural activities, in a festive mood.
