Mayor stresses on need for new anti-terrorism laws
Mayor of Dhaka Mohammad Hanif yesterday called upon all irrespective of party affiliation to work unitedly to build a prosperous future for the children, reports BSS.
Addressing the inaugural function of a newly constructed building of Hardco International School at Baridhara as the chief guest, the mayor welcomed the private sector entrepreneurs in constructing infrastructure for the development of education sector along with the government efforts.
The mayor emphasised on the need for enacting new anti-terrorism laws as the old laws formed some 200 years ago had all proved inadequate to contain terrorism today.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruhul Amin, Director of the school and local ward commissioner Md Waqil Uddin, founder Managing Director of the school Prof Rawshan Ali, former ambassador Rashed Chowdhury and Enamul Haq also spoke at the inaugural session.
Later, the Mayor visited different classes of the newly constructed school building.
