Mallick rubbishes Forum claims
Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB's) ad-hoc committee member IH Mallick denied accusations that BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon was using the government's office to influence the nomination of councillors from the District and Divisional Sports Associations (DSA).
Speaking to reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mallick said, “What is the proof? Go to the DCs of the districts and ask them if any of this is true. That's just false.”
On Saturday, members of the Bangladesh District and Divisional Sports Organisers Council, known as Forum -- an association within the DSAs -- in a press conference accused the president of interfering with the nomination process.
In reply to Forum's statement, Mallick said, “Forum just wants to bring in councillors of their own choice and manipulate the elections.”
As per the constitution, 71 councillors will be elected from the DSAs, out of which 10 will become BCB directors.
The letter to asking for the names of the councillors, would be sent to the clubs, DSAs and the other concerned parties once the president returned from Singapore.
