Lawyers on court boycott

Lawyers here yesterday started boycott of a court demanding immediate removal of an assistant judge.
They announced their indefinite programme protesting 'misbehavior' of the judge with them. The decision was taken at 10:00 in the morning.
Jhenidah Bar Association general secretary Dabir Hossain said that the assistant judge had been misbehaving with the lawyers for a long time. The problem was not solved despite repeated request to the authorities, he said.
The lawyers said they will continue the boycott till the judge was transferred. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by association's president Sariful Islam.
The assistant judge was also conducting the civil courts in Kotchandpur and Moheshpur upazilas, they said.
