Korea eager to help disaster-prone people
The Korean government is keen on cooperating with Bangladesh for the development of disaster-prone and vulnerable populations of the country, said Korean Ambassador Lee Yun-Young during his recent visit to Patharghata of Barguna.
Resident Representative of Korea International Cooperation Agency Kim Bok-hee, Managing Director of the LG Electronics, Bangladesh Branch Song Changkeun and United Nations World Food Programme Representative to Bangladesh Christa Räder accompanied the ambassador on his visit on August 21.
Lee Yun-Young said KOICA and WFP have taken up a three-year project with a budget of US$3 million to facilitate access to food and enable the poor to take advantage of development opportunities.
