Jubo League leader shot dead in capital

Unidentified miscreants shot dead a Jubo League leader at Gulshan in the capital early Tuesday.

Riazul Haque Khan Milky, 43, was organising secretary of Jubo League, Dhaka metropolitan (south) unit, said Rafiqul Islam, officer in-charge of Gulshan Police Station.

As Milky was talking to a group of people standing beside Gulshan Road No.123, two unidentified criminals on a motorcycle opened fire on them.

They shot him twice in the head and chest and left the scene, the OC said.

Milky was whisked off to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police detained a Jubo League joint secretary of the same unit, who also sustained bullet wounds during the incident, for interrogation, Kazi Anisur Rahman, central office secretary of Jubo League told The Daily Star.

But his name and other details could not be known immediately.
