Jubo League leader Aminul denied bail
A Dhaka court yesterday rejected a bail petition of Jubo League leader Aminul Haque alias Jewel Mollah in schoolboy Parag Mondol abduction case.
Judge Md Abdul Majid of Dhaka District and Sessions Judge's Court passed the order after Jewel's lawyer filed an appeal seeking bail in the case.
On January 15, the same court granted bail to Jewel in the same case. But, it cancelled his bail on February 17 asking him to appear before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court of Dhaka by February 19.
The court also granted bail to four accused on different dates.
Following the order, the four accused including Jewel surrendered before the lower court seeking bail in the case, but the court rejected their bail and ordered to send them to jail.
Another accused Rizvi Ahmed Anik could not appear before the court on that day as he is now in custody in another abduction case filed with Keraniganj Police Station
The judge passed the order after the High Court issued a rule upon the government asking to explain why the bail to Jewel and four others should not be cancelled.
On November 11 last year, six-year-old Parag Mondol, a student of KG-I of Heed International School, was abducted from Shuvadda Paschim Para in Keraniganj.
Three days later, he was found in Atibazar area of Keraniganj.
Police so far arrested eleven accused including Jewel.
