JP secretary general meets president
Jatiya Party Secretary General Ruhul Amin Howlader this evening met with President Abdul Hamid to inquire about his health condition.
They also discussed the country's latest political situation including holding of a free, fair and inclusive general election, Hawlader told The Daily Star emerging from the hour-long meeting at Bangabhaban.
He said the president expressed his concern over the ongoing political violence in the country.
"Our chairman sent me to inquire about the present's health condition following his medical check-up in Singapore and to convey his salam to the president," said the JP's second in-command.
He said the president expressed similar views with him that a participatory election in a free and fair atmosphere is a must to come out of the present situation.
The JP leader reached Bangabhaban, the president's office-cum-residence, around 8:15pm.
