Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu observed

The nation observed the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu on Monday, reports BSS.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman returned to independent Bangladesh on January 10, 1972 from the captivity of Pakistan jail.

Bangladesh Awami League, its front organisations and a number of socio-cultural organisations observed the day across the country taking fresh vow to complete the unfinished tasks of the great leader.

President Shahabuddin Ah-med and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the occasion.

Sheikh Hasina, who is also the chief of Bangladesh Awami League placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Museum at Dhanmondi.

Ministers, state ministers, parliament members and different organisations also pla-ced wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu. Discussions were held in Dhaka, Chittagong and other divisional headquarters.
