Hartal paralyses life in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Jan 23: Normal life was paralysed in the port city and its adjoining areas today due to an eight-hour hartal enforced by BNP-led opposition alliance.

The opposition alliance enforced the hartal protesting killing of a Shibir activists in the city on Thursday.

Shibir blamed BCL for the killing, but BCL denied it.

Police and witnesses said some bombs exploded at different places of the city during hartal hours.

Police arrested five pickets from different places.
