Govt oppresses people holding a different view: SSJ

The government is misusing the joint drive to oppress the people holding a different view from them and to fulfill their political malice, said the speakers at a press conference in the city yesterday.

The press conference was organised by the Sammilito Sangskritik Jote (SSJ) at Dhaka Reporters Unity Office demanding immediate release of its publicity secretary and debater Ahkamullah.

The speakers also demanded immediate release of all journalists, intellectuals and cultural activists who were arrested without any specific charges.

The Sammilito Sangskritik Jote organises a sit-in at Muktangan from 2.00pm to 6.00pm tomorrow.

The Jote will also hold a cultural programme protesting the arrests.
