Father files GD over threat letter
Rafiur Rabbi, father of slain Tanvir Mohammad Toki, filed a general diary with Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station on Sunday night after receiving a letter threatening him not to go too far about the murder.
The name of the sender in the yellow envelope encasing the letter read one Awlad Hossain, son of late Abu Naser of Fatullah's Lal Kha Sohachor area.
“Do not carry your son's death issue too far as you have another son. If you have compassion for him, do not overdo it. Our reach is far and wide. We can do much more,” said the letter.
Manjur Kader, officer-in-charge of the police station, said Rafiur's family was in shock.
“We are enhancing safety measures for the family and investigating the incident.”
Toki, son of Narayanganj Gonojagoron Mancha Convener Rafiur, was found dead on the bank of the river Shitalakkhya on March 8, two days after going missing.
His body bore several bruises, on the right eye and throat.
Rafiur filed a case that night with Narayanganj Police Station against unnamed suspects.
Toki, 17, had just completed his A-levels from ABC International School in Chashara area of the town.
He had secured outstanding results, published a day after he had gone missing.
