Dutch coaches on from May 15
Dutch coaches Lodewjik de Kruif and Rene Koster will take charge of the national team two weeks ahead of the two FIFA friendly matches against India and Pakistan in England in June.
Bangladesh will play against the two sub-continent rivals on June 1 and June 7 in England, as an Indian-based sports company named Celebrity Management Group which organsied the FIFA friendly between Argentina and Nigeria in Dhaka, is going to organsie the matches among the three sub-continent sides in England.
“They will take charge of the national team on May 15 to prepare the team for the matches in England to play two matches against India and Pakistan,” said Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin after having met with the coaches at Hotel Westin yesterday.
The BFF boss also informed that the Dutch coaches would then take the full responsibility for two years from starting from July 1 instead of June 1, in line with the memorandum of understanding they signed in early January.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed, BFF vice president and chairman of the National Teams Committee, informed that BFF would sign an interim contract with the Dutch coaches for the England tour just like the one they signed during Bangladesh's campaign in the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers.
Meanwhile, assistant coach Rene Koster and his wife will leave here for Netherlands today while De Kruif and his wife will leave on April 14.
However, the national team's preparations for the England tour may coincide with the Super Cup as the professional football league committee on Tuesday decided to start the money-spinning tournament in the middle of May with eight clubs of Bangladesh Premier League.
