Bus driver shot dead by robbers in Feni
The driver of a passenger bus was shot dead by a gang of robbers in Daudpur bridge area in Feni yesterday.
The dead is Abu Taher, 55, of Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong.
Witnesses said when some cloth traders were going to Dhaka in the reserved bus of Saudi Paribahan, the robbers tried to halt it by hurling brick chips at them around 3:00am. When the driver started to drive away, the criminals opened fire on him leaving him critically injured.
Humayun, helper in the bus, then took control of the steering and drove the bus to a nearby filling station in Fatehpur. The helper took Taher to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
