DB police advised to show identity cards if challenged

Plainclothes men of the Detective Branch working under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police have been advised to show their identity cards if people challenged them, said a press release yesterday.

The order issued yesterday said that the DB had taken the decision to save the people from the criminal network operating in the city, using the name of DB Police.

"At least five or six such cases were reported during the last two months where the miscreants identified themselves as DB Police and cheated the people," Hannan Khan, the DC of DB told The Daily Star last night.
