Former envoy Farooq passes away
Former ambassador Mohammed Farooq passed away yesterday. He was 70.
He breathed his last around 8:00am in Dhaka yesterday, said a foreign ministry press release. He had been suffering from cancer.
Born on January 10, 1949, Farooq, a BCS (foreign affairs) officer of 1973 batch, served in Bhutan, Australia, Malaysia, the US, the Philippines and other Bangladesh missions in different capacity.
He left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of friends and well-wishers.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at his village home in Bhola after a namaz-e-janaza on Bhola Government School ground today.
