Bombing of SP's house:11 held in C'nawabganj

Police in separate drives arrested at least 11 Jamaat-Shibir men from different areas of the town in the last two days on charge of hurling cocktails at residence of the police superintendent on Saturday.
Bazlur Rashid, officer in-charge of Sadar police station, said criminals came by a motorbike and hurled a few cocktails on the house of SP Bashir Ahmed in the town at 10:45pm on Saturday.
The security guard of the house opened fire but the criminals fled leaving the motorbike behind.
Although the SP was at home during the cocktail attacks, he was not injured, said the OC.
Meanwhile, police also arrested three Shibir activists along with two bombs in Shibtala area of the town yesterday.
Three other Shibir men were also arrested from Shibtala at noon, said police.
