BNP leader killed after abduction in Rajbari
Criminals have killed a BNP leader after abduction in Rajbari district.
Police recovered his body at Lakhmandia village in Pangsha upazila yesterday noon.
Identified as Abdus Sabur Khan, 45, the deceased was vice-president of Machpara union unit BNP, also a former member of Machpara union parishad.
Abdus Shahid Khan, elder brother of the deceased told the journalist that Sabur was abducted by a gang at about 8:30 pm on Tuesday when he was returning to his Lakhmandia home from Machpara bazaar.
"On hearing the incident, we looked for him at all possible places, but failed to trace his whereabouts", Shahid said.
Local people found the slit-throat body of Sabur at Lakhmandia paddy field at about 12:30pm.
Being informed, a team from Pangsha police station recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Mizanur Rahman, Additional Police Superintendent of Rajbari said Sabur had rivalry with his father-in-law Abdul Hamid and brother Abdul Samad over a piece of land.
"This may be a reason behind the murder," the police official said.
Police have collected some evidence in connection with the incident, the additional SP told this correspondent.
A case was filed with Pangsha police station, accusing a few unknown people.
