Zahidul Islam elected president of Chhatra Shibir, Nurul Islam new secretary general

Zahidul Islam and Nurul Islam have been elected as the president and secretary general of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir respectively during the Jamaat-affiliated student body's central members' council today.
During the closing session of the council at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital, the names of the newly elected central committee members were announced by the chief election commissioner and former central president of the organisation, Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand.
The session was conducted by Assistant Election Commissioner and former central president Selim Uddin.
After the announcement, the chief election commissioner administered the oath to the newly elected central president.
The voting for the central president of Islami Chhatra Shibir was held online simultaneously across the country from 7:00pm on December 29 to 8:00pm on December 30 of this year.
According to the organisation's constitution, the central president, after consulting with the executive council, appointed Nurul Islam as the secretary general.
The newly elected central president, Zahidul Islam, completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English from Jagannath University and is currently pursuing a degree in human resource management at a private university.
The newly appointed secretary general, Nurul Islam completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from Khulna University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in the human resource management at Dhaka University.
