Rajshahi BNP leader sued for issuing 'death threat' to PM
Rajshahi district BNP Convener Abu Sayeed Chand was sued under Anti-Terrorism Act in Rajshahi today for issuing "death threat" to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a public rally.
Baneswar Union Awami League General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad filed the case with Puthia Police Station at 12:15am, said Faruk Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.
In his case, Azad alleged that the BNP leader Chand threatened the PM while addressing a public rally held at Shibpirhat School field on Friday.
BNP's national standing committee member Selima Rahman attended the rally as the chief guest, with Chand in the chair.
During his speech, Chand said BNP has no other demand except ensuring that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina goes to her grave, the OC said quoting the case statement
The OC added that Chand was accused in a similar case for his statement threatening the premier in Rajshahi city earlier.
