New BSD committee without Khalequzzaman after 42 years

Congress of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) announced new committee of the party without Khalequzzaman in the top position after 42 years.
BSD leader Bazlur Rashid Firoj was elected general secretary from a council held in February, said a party statement tonight.
Khalequzzaman has been convener of the party since 1980, when some renegades from Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal formed it.
He was elected general secretary in 2009 from a party convention. Party sources said Khalequzzaman had retired from the central leadership.
BSD held its first congress in capital today and announced a 14-member central committee.
Razequzzaman Ratan was announced assistant general secretary, Nikhil Das, Janardhan Dutta Nantu and Abdul Kuddus were made secretariat members.
"Central committee will decide what will be the position of Khalequzzaman in the party. Our constitution has provision of having advisors in the party," Razequzzaman told The Daily Star.
