National Consensus Commission to hold talks with AB Party tomorrow

The National Consensus Commission (NCC) is scheduled to hold talks with the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party tomorrow to discuss the reform proposals put forward by various commissions.

The discussion will take place around 3:00pm at the LD Hall of the National Parliament Building.

The Commission began formal discussions on March 20 to finalise the recommendations made by various reform commissions.

So far, it has held meetings with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Khelafat Majlish, Bangladesh Labour Party, and the Rashtro Sangskar Andolon.

As part of this ongoing process, the commission will meet with the AB Party tomorrow.

The NCC was formed under the leadership of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, with the aim of building national consensus on key reforms, which will later be incorporated into the July Charter.

The commission began its activities on February 15.

It requested political parties to provide specific opinions on important recommendations made in the first phase by the Constitutional Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, Electoral System Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, and the Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission.

These recommendations were sent in spreadsheet format to 38 political parties on March 13.

So far, the commission has received feedback from 28 political parties, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP).
