BNP to hold rallies nationwide from Feb 12-25

BNP has announced a series of nationwide rallies from February 12 to 25 to press for several demands, including the announcement of an election roadmap and controlling rising prices of essential commodities

The demands also include improvement of law and order, and resisting the conspiracies of the fallen regime.

The party's senior joint secretary general, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, disclosed the details in a press release this morning.

According to the release, 37 senior BNP leaders, including the party's secretary general, standing committee members, vice-chairmen, advisory council members, and joint secretaries general, will participate in the programmes.

On February 12, the rally will kick off with speeches from standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy in Lalmonirhat, Nazrul Islam Khan in Sirajganj, and Salahuddin Ahmed in Feni. Vice-Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu will address the rally in Brahmanbaria, while Joint Secretary General Habib Un-Nabi Khan Sohel will speak in Jamalpur.

On February 17, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will lead the rally in Jashore.

The party standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan will address the rally in Tangail, Selima Rahman in Madaripur, and Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu in Thakurgaon.

On February 18, Salahuddin will address the rally in Cox's Bazar, while Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku will speak in Pabna. Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will attend the rally in Manikganj.

On February 19, standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury will speak in Noakhali, and Chairperson's Advisory Council member Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal will speak in Sylhet.

The day's programmes will also feature speeches by chairperson advisory council member Mizanur Rahman Minu in Kushtia and Farhad Halim Donar in Shariatpur.

On February 20, Mirza Fakhrul will lead the rally in Dhaka. Other leaders such as Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury will address gatherings in Lakshmipur and Selima in Barisal South.

On February 22, Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser, Zainul Abedin Farroque, will be addressing a rally in Jhalakathi and Vice-Chairman Ahmad Azam Khan in Chattogram South.

On February 24, BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain will lead the rally in Munshiganj, while Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will speak in Barisal North. Joint Secretary General Habib Un-Nabi Khan Sohel will address the rally in Rangamati.

February 25, the final day of the programme will feature speeches by standing committee member Mirza Abbas in Narayanganj, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy in Gazipur, and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku in Chattogram North.

BNP made the decision to hold rallies across the country to gather public support and highlight its demands before the next general election, said party sources.
