Zaida takes charge as Gazipur city mayor

Zaida Khatun today took charge as the first female mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC).

"We will build a planned city with everyone, including all the councillors," Zaida said at City Hall around 1:00pm, after assuming her role as mayor

Former mayor Zahangir Alam, Zaida's son, said, "Parliamentary elections is ahead of us. Everyone should work together. Everyone should cooperate with each other."

He also sought prayers and good wishes for his mother, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

Later, a reception was accorded to Zaida at Bangtaj Auditorium in Rathkhola area, in the southern part of Nagar Bhaban.
