Shahidur Rahman passes away

Shahidur Rahman Shaheed, former chief adminis-trative officer, Ministry of Defence, breathed his last on April 21.

He was 85.

Born in Calcutta, British India, Shaheed was the third son of late Atiqur Rahman Mahmood, scholar and civil servant of British India, Bengal and late Laila Mahmood, daughter of Khan Bahadur Arshad Ali. Shaheed is survived by his son, two daughters, six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

He was buried at the Army Graveyard.
