Shahana Iqbal passes away

Shahana Iqbal passed away due to age-related complica-tions at Dhaka CMH (Combined Military Hospital) on Sunday. She was 85.

She was the mother of Lt Commander (Retd) Rashed Iqbal, the chief editor of the daily Jonmobhumi. Among her three children, two daughters reside abroad.

Her namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Naval Headquarters Mosque, and she will be laid to eternal rest at the Banani Military Graveyard on May 21 after Asr prayers.

Her husband, Colonel Md Iqbal, passed away in 1995.

Shahana Iqbal was a patron of the arts and an accomplished painter, particularly in oil painting. She was also a member of the Uttara Ladies Club.
